Who We Serve

HELP serves thousands of middle and high school students, as well as disabled and at-risk youth in the Juvenile Justice System to inspire and place them with employers throughout our community.

Counselor Referred:

Qualified clients are recommended to certified HELP staff by Texas Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services (DARS) counselors. HELP offers those clients services such as Job Coaching, Job Placement, and Supported Employment, as well as a specially modified Vocational Adjustment Training based on HELP’s On-Site Career Mentoring model.

Court Referred:

HELP is contracted with Nueces County to work with youth to complete part of their probation in exploration of career opportunities. This introduction to the world of work is part of the aftercare program designed by the Juvenile Probation Board to reduce repeat offenders and improve outcomes for its probationary youth.

Middle and High School Career Clubs:

HELP’s school-to-work Career Club offers web-based video "visits" to local business entities and brings professional speakers/visitors to school.

HELP produces interactive videos of our field trips to actual employers so students can virtually "explore" job sites and careers from the safety and convenience of school on HELP’s responsive website, from any device: a computer, tablet or cell phone.

The student can view over 50 "field trips" to a variety of local employers on our website, register for a future field trip, apply for an internship and/or a scholarship of up to $1000, funded and facilitated by our generous sponsors and donors. On- Site Career Mentoring matches youth with the "job of their dreams."
